Job Purpose

The Veterinary Pharmacist will ensure the safe and effective use of medications for animal patients. You will collaborate with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and pet owners to provide pharmaceutical care, manage therapies, and educate clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Compounding, dispensing, and managing medications for animals, including prescriptions and OTC drugs
• Consulting with veterinarians and pet owners regarding appropriate medication use, dosages, and side effects
• Staying updated on new drugs, formulations, and treatment protocols
• Monitoring adverse drug reactions and interactions
• Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
• Educating veterinary staff and clients on medication administration, storage, and handling
• Managing pharmacy inventory, including ordering and controlling medications
• Engaging in research to develop or improve veterinary drugs
• Collaborating with veterinary teams to optimize patient care
• Supporting public health initiatives by ensuring safe medication use in food-producing animals

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine
• Minimum 5 years of experience in veterinary pharmacy (Gulf experience preferred)
• Strong knowledge in reproductive issues in camels, equines, cattle, and other animals
• Experience with surgical operations and using ultrasound for animals
• Residency in Oman preferred
• Strong team collaboration skills

المهام والمسؤوليات

• تحضير وصرف وإدارة الأدوية للحيوانات، بما في ذلك الوصفات الطبية والأدوية المتاحة بدون وصفة
• تقديم الاستشارات للأطباء البيطريين ومالكي الحيوانات حول الاستخدام المناسب للأدوية والجرعات والآثار الجانبية
• متابعة المستجدات حول الأدوية الجديدة والبروتوكولات العلاجية
• مراقبة التفاعلات والآثار الجانبية للأدوية
• التأكد من الالتزام بالقوانين واللوائح
• تثقيف الفريق الطبي والعملاء حول طريقة إعطاء الأدوية وتخزينها والتعامل معها
• إدارة مخزون الصيدلية بما في ذلك الطلب والتحكم بالأدوية
• المشاركة في أبحاث تطوير أو تحسين الأدوية البيطرية
• التعاون مع الفرق البيطرية لضمان أفضل رعاية للحيوانات
• دعم المبادرات الصحية العامة لضمان الاستخدام الآمن للأدوية في الحيوانات المنتجة للغذاء

المؤهلات والمهارات

• بكالوريوس في الطب البيطري
• خبرة لا تقل عن 5 سنوات في الصيدلة البيطرية (خبرة في دول الخليج مفضلة)
• معرفة قوية بمشاكل الإنجاب في الإبل، الخيول، الأبقار، وغيرها من الحيوانات
• خبرة في العمليات الجراحية واستخدام الأشعة الصوتية للحيوانات
• الإقامة في عمان مفضلة
• مهارات قوية للعمل ضمن فريق
