Network & Security Engineer – Bowsher, Oman

Key Responsibilities

Network Management & Configuration

  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot network devices such as switches and firewalls.

  • Implement and support VLANs, trunk/access ports, and inter-VLAN routing.

  • Optimize network performance with redundancy and loop prevention using LACP and STP.

Security & Firewall Administration

  • Manage firewall environments, preferably FortiGate, including policy creation, upgrades, and troubleshooting.

  • Configure and troubleshoot VPNs (site-to-site and remote access).

  • Collaborate on security implementations and incident resolution.

Additional Duties

  • Provide basic DNS and DHCP administration, including IP helper configuration.

  • Assist in network projects and support team members with technical expertise.

Requirements & Skills

  • Strong understanding of the OSI model (Layer 2 & Layer 3).

  • Knowledge of access vs. trunk ports (tagged/untagged traffic) and practical use cases.

  • Hands-on experience with LACP, STP, VLANs, SVIs, and inter-VLAN routing.

  • 1–2 years of experience with firewalls (FortiGate preferred).

  • Basic understanding of DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.

  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
