Lead Strategic Investments: Become the Economics & Investment Evaluation Manager

Job Purpose

Lead the delivery of high-quality financial analysis, investment appraisals, and economic evaluations to support strategic decision-making. Oversee validation of investment proposals and economic models while acting as a key interface with Business Development, Strategy, Asset Management, and Corporate Finance. Serve as a subject-matter expert supporting capability development and governance compliance.

Investment Evaluation & Decision Support

  • Lead the review and economic assessment of all investment proposals

  • Ensure investment cases are supported with robust financial models and commercial logic

  • Analyze IRR, NPV, payback periods, sensitivities, and scenario planning

  • Validate key assumptions such as CAPEX/OPEX, price decks, offtake terms, and risk factors

Financial Modeling & Economic Analysis

  • Oversee development and enhancement of financial models for valuation and appraisal

  • Ensure alignment with corporate methodology and valuation standards

  • Provide economic inputs for negotiations, strategic reviews, and commercial decisions

  • Review valuation models for M&A, partnerships, divestments, or new ventures

Strategic & Portfolio Support

  • Work with Asset Management to identify value-creation opportunities

  • Support asset-level strategies through benchmarking and risk assessments

  • Contribute to cost optimization, contract renegotiation, expansion, or refinancing initiatives

  • Support portfolio reviews, hold/sell analysis, and capital reallocation decisions

  • Conduct annual valuation exercises for management reporting

  • Prepare economic analysis for Board and senior leadership

Mentorship & Capability Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of analysts to maintain high analytical standards

  • Promote continuous learning and professional development

  • Manage workload allocation and review team deliverables

  • Standardize best practices and enhance internal tools/templates
