OQEP is seeking a highly skilled Asset Manager – Joint Ventures to oversee the performance and development of multiple JV assets in Oman. This is a strategic role for a petroleum engineering professional to ensure operational efficiency, optimal value creation, and alignment with corporate objectives.

Role Summary

The Asset Manager monitors, reviews, and evaluates the performance of Joint Venture (JV) assets operated by partner International Oil Companies (IOCs). The role ensures asset development plans, reservoir management, and business performance align with approved Field Development Plans (FDPs), budgets, and corporate goals. The position also supports technical reserves assessment, identifies growth opportunities, and evaluates new asset proposals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform multi-discipline assessments for JV assets with focus on petroleum engineering evaluations, asset performance, and business reviews.

  • Represent OQEP in technical and techno-commercial meetings with partners and government authorities.

  • Review performance of JV assets and ensure alignment with FDPs and reservoir surveillance plans.

  • Assess and provide recommendations on annual work programs, budgets, and alternative development strategies.

  • Coordinate updates of technical reserves estimation and reporting.

  • Ensure JV asset management complies with EPSAs, JOAs, and OQEP’s economic screening criteria.

  • Challenge and manage upstream exploration and development expenses to protect asset value.

  • Provide cost-effective solutions to support asset development decisions and production/cost forecasts.

  • External: Operators, Partners, Government authorities.

Field operations and office environment, moderate to intensive computer usage.

Education & Language Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field.

  • Excellent written and spoken English (required); Arabic (native) preferred.

Experience & Background

  • Minimum 8 years in Petroleum Engineering, preferably in upstream oil & gas operations or JV asset management.

  • Proven experience in reservoir engineering, field development planning, and performance evaluation.

  • Strong exposure to technical and commercial aspects of EPSAs and JOAs.

  • Well-rounded professional with strategic management capabilities and adaptability.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong management and leadership skills to lead all aspects of asset management.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and multicultural sensitivity.

  • Computer literate with expertise in MS Office.

يقوم مدير الأصول بمراقبة وتقييم أداء الأصول المشتركة، وضمان توافق خطط تطوير الأصول وإدارة المكامن مع خطط تطوير الحقول المعتمدة والميزانيات والأهداف المؤسسية. كما يدعم تقييم الاحتياطيات التقنية، ويحدد فرص النمو، ويقيم اقتراحات الأصول الجديدة.

المسؤوليات الأساسية

  • تقييم الأصول المشتركة متعددة التخصصات مع التركيز على هندسة البترول وأداء الأصول والمراجعات التجارية.

  • تمثيل OQEP في الاجتماعات الفنية والتقنية مع الشركاء والجهات الحكومية.

  • مراجعة أداء الأصول المشتركة وضمان توافقها مع خطط تطوير الحقول وخطط مراقبة المكامن.

  • تقييم واعتماد البرامج السنوية والميزانيات واستراتيجيات التطوير البديلة.

  • تنسيق تحديث تقديرات الاحتياطيات التقنية والتقارير ذات الصلة.

  • ضمان إدارة الأصول وفقًا لاتفاقيات المشاركة في الإنتاج (EPSAs) واتفاقيات التشغيل المشتركة (JOAs).
