Lab Chemist – SGS Oman

Responsibilities

  • Review client orders and ensure all laboratory tests are conducted according to client specifications and standard test methods.

  • Maintain strict compliance with ISO 17025:2017 standards and company HSE policies.

  • Register and input sample data accurately into Excel or LIMS systems in accordance with lab procedures.

  • Communicate any deviations from test methods to supervisors or managers.

  • Perform internal calibration and verification of laboratory instruments and glassware.

  • Conduct Statistical Quality Control (SQC) analyses for laboratory testing.

  • Authorize and issue Certificates of Quality.

  • Monitor stock levels and prepare reagents and solvents as required.

  • Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure proper storage and disposal of samples.

  • Comply with all HSE regulations and uphold SGS’s Code of Integrity, Impartiality, and Business Principles.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Basic to Intermediate).

  • Previous experience in testing and handling petroleum products, including:

    • Gasoil

    • Gasoline

    • Crude Oil

    • Benzene, Paraxylene, Methanol

المسؤوليات

  • مراجعة طلبات العملاء والتأكد من تنفيذ الاختبارات وفقًا للمواصفات والمعايير المعتمدة.

  • الالتزام التام بمعايير الجودة ISO 17025:2017 وسياسات الصحة والسلامة المهنية.

  • تسجيل وإدخال بيانات العينات بدقة في نظام Excel أو LIMS حسب الإجراءات المعتمدة.

  • الإبلاغ عن أي انحراف عن طرق الاختبار إلى المشرفين أو المديرين.

  • إجراء المعايرة الداخلية والتحقق من أدوات المختبر والأواني الزجاجية.

  • تنفيذ تحاليل ضبط الجودة الإحصائي (SQC) للعينات المختبرة.

  • إصدار شهادات الجودة والموافقة عليها.

  • متابعة المخزون وتحضير الكواشف والمذيبات حسب الحاجة.

  • الحفاظ على نظافة بيئة المختبر وتنظيم تخزين العينات والتخلص منها بشكل آمن.

  • الالتزام بسياسات الصحة والسلامة وقواعد النزاهة والمبادئ التجارية الخاصة بشركة SGS.

المؤهلات والمهارات

  • خبرة لا تقل عن 3 سنوات في مجال الصناعة.

  • إجادة استخدام برامج Microsoft Office (من مستوى أساسي إلى متوسط).

  • خبرة سابقة في اختبار ومعالجة المنتجات البترولية التالية:

    • الديزل (Gasoil)

    • البنزين (Gasoline)

    • النفط الخام (Crude Oil)

    • البنزين الحلقي، البارازايلين، الميثانول (Benzene – Paraxylene – Methanol)
