Role Summary

As SCMS and Cybersecurity Commissioning Engineer, you will perform commissioning of SCMS and Cybersecurity systems, support FAT/SAT activities, provide customer training, and act as a primary technical interface for clients. This role involves extensive travel (~75%) to job sites, customer offices, and vendor factories.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure and test Bay Control Units (BCUs), RTUs/PLCs, SCMS systems
• Develop application solutions with IEC61850, Modbus, Profibus, IEC 101, IEC 104, and other protocols
• Design, configure, and commission Cybersecurity for Substation Automation systems
• Troubleshoot and support customers on-site
• Assist in order proposals (bills of materials, technical clarifications)
• Implement, test, and commission protection and control schemes
• Prepare Site Acceptance Test (SAT) procedures
• Configure SCMS for retrofit applications
• Provide customer training on SCMS systems

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation
• Minimum 3 years relevant experience in substation automation and SCMS
• Advanced knowledge of substation network topology, IEC61850 networks, HMI/SCADA parameterization, and Cybersecurity in OT systems
• Hands-on experience with BCUs, HMIs, gateways, SCMS/RTU integration, FAT/SAT commissioning
• Familiarity with IEC 62443, IEC 62351 standards, and Next Gen Firewalls, IDS, Syslog, RBAC, hardening
• Adaptable, problem-solving, and collaborative across cultures
• Fluent in English
• Relevant certifications are an advantage

Additional Plus (Not Mandatory)

• Siemens relay/automation products knowledge
• Communication network design and troubleshooting
• Experience with utilities or O&G customers in UAE, Oman, Bahrain
• ANSI and IEC standards knowledge
• SICAM, DIGSI, CAEx/ST/CFC programming knowledge
• Numerical relays and programming experience (C, VB)
