Wood is recruiting for a Lead Process Safety Engineer to join its Projects team focusing on delivering across FEED and Detail Design scopes of work. In this role, you will provide expert leadership ensuring Process Safety Risks are effectively managed across OQ RPI facilities (Refineries and Petchem). You will develop, maintain, and improve frameworks, procedures, standards, and guidelines related to Process Safety.
This position is based in Oman for a long-term assignment.

Responsibilities

The Lead Process Safety Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Leading the implementation of Process Safety policies, systems, and procedures for RPI & Plastic assets, ensuring lessons learned, best practices, and standards are applied effectively.

  • Leading the development of Process Safety project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resources.

  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

  • Ensuring consistent strategies to manage Process Safety Barriers across all RPI assets as part of the Mechanical Integrity System.

  • Ensuring safe operating procedures, including document generation and upkeep.

  • Ensuring competency assurance and compliance within Process Safety Barriers Management.

  • Ensuring Risk Management audits, reports, and project execution.

  • Consolidating Process Safety performance for RPI and preparing reports with recommendations.

  • Interfacing with audits and authorities for compliance with Process Safety plans.

  • Ensuring availability of processes governing Hazard Analysis (PHA), HAZOP, SIL, QRA, LOPA and other risk evaluation studies and workshops.

  • Executing programs to improve Process Safety culture and providing guidance on laws, regulations, and best practices.

  • Leading incident investigations and follow-up activities.

  • Leading site-wide PHA, HAZOP, LOPA, SIL, and QRA studies.

  • Liaising with stakeholders (clients, contractors, suppliers) to ensure objectives are met.

  • Acting as focal point for interface with process risk management audits.

  • Providing technical guidance to the process safety team and resolving technical issues.

  • Providing guidance during concept, FEED, engineering, construction, commissioning, operational, and decommissioning phases.

  • Providing on-site consultations on Process Safety and ensuring accountability of all PSM requirements.

About the Role

Reflecting the market focus in both brownfield and greenfield opportunities, multi-skilled personnel with Onshore Oil & Gas experience are preferred.

المسؤوليات

سيكون المهندس الرئيسي للسلامة العملية مسؤولاً عن:

  • قيادة تنفيذ سياسات وإجراءات وأنظمة السلامة العملية لأصول RPI واللدائن، وتطبيق الدروس المستفادة والممارسات العالمية.

  • قيادة إعداد خطط مشاريع السلامة العملية، بما في ذلك الجداول الزمنية والميزانيات والموارد.

  • ضمان الالتزام بالمتطلبات التنظيمية والمعايير الصناعية.

  • ضمان وجود استراتيجية موحّدة لإدارة حواجز السلامة العملية ضمن نظام السلامة الميكانيكية.

  • ضمان توفر إجراءات التشغيل الآمن، بما في ذلك إعداد الوثائق وتحديثها.

  • ضمان الكفاءة المهنية كجزء من إدارة حواجز السلامة.

  • الإشراف على تقارير وتدقيقات إدارة المخاطر.

  • التنسيق مع الجهات الرقابية للتأكد من الامتثال لخطط السلامة العملية.
